How the Bears won
- Kickoff temperature was 8 degrees with a wind chill of minus-2, making it one of the coldest games in Soldier Field history. [source]
- The Bears jumped out 14–0 in the first quarter on a 6-yard D'Andre Swift touchdown run and a 3-yard Caleb Williams-to-DJ Moore scoring pass. [source]
- Cleveland's only points came on a 50-yard Andre Szmyt field goal early in the second half; the Bears then scored the game's final 17 points. [source]
- Chicago's defense picked off rookie QB Shedeur Sanders three times in the second half (D'Marco Jackson, Jaylon Johnson in the end zone, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson with a 23-yard return), recorded five sacks, and did not allow a touchdown. [source]
- Caleb Williams finished 17-of-28 for 242 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers (112.5 rating); Sanders posted a 30.3 passer rating. [source]
- D'Andre Swift ran 18 times for 98 yards and two scores, including a 17-yard touchdown late in the third quarter in which he shed two tacklers. [source]
- DJ Moore caught both of Williams' touchdown passes, finishing with four catches for 69 yards. [source]
- The Bears outgained Cleveland 361–192 and held the Browns to 50 rushing yards. [source]
- The 28-point margin was Chicago's most lopsided win since a 36–7 victory over Houston on Dec. 13, 2020, and it was the Bears' first 10-win season since 2018. [source]
- The win moved the Bears to 10–4 and, combined with Green Bay's loss to Denver that day, back into first place in the NFC North ahead of a Week 16 showdown with the Packers. [source]
The chant after this one
Every win ends the same way: Johnson gathers the room, calls for quiet, and leads the four lines one at a time with the whole team answering. This was chant No. 11 of the Johnson era.
- Ben Johnson handed out two game balls: one to linebacker D'Marco Jackson (seven tackles, a sack and an interception while filling in for Tremaine Edmunds) and one to DJ Moore for his two-touchdown day. [source]
- Johnson called Jackson's interception a game-changer that sparked the team in the second half, and praised the defense's performance as outstanding. [source]
- The locker room mood was described as thrilled with the blowout but still carrying the sting of the previous week's loss in Green Bay, with attention immediately turning to the Packers rematch. [source]
- The Bears published both a locker-room celebration video and a Johnson speech video, plus a photo gallery from the postgame celebration, on chicagobears.com. [source]
