The Good, Better, Best Chant › About
About This Site
An independent reference on one four-line rhyme.
goodbetterbestchant.com exists to answer every question people ask about "Good, better, best. Never let it rest." in one place, with every fact linked to where it came from. That means the Bears' chant and how it spread, the proverb's actual history, and the honest answer to who said it (nobody famous).
Who runs it
It's a one-person side project by a longtime Bears fan who got curious about where the chant came from and found that nobody had written it down properly. It is not a company, and it is not affiliated with the Chicago Bears, the NFL, or any player or coach.
How we work
- Every claim links to a source: ESPN, ABC7, the Sun-Times, the Tribune, Sports Illustrated, Fox 32, or primary documents.
- When sources disagree (wording variants, dates), we say so rather than pick one quietly.
- Pages carry a visible "last updated" date. The timeline is updated after each Bears game.
- We don't run ads, and there is nothing for sale on this site.
